What you may do with it
You may read, print and share pages of this site for your own personal, non-commercial use, and you may link to any page on it. Quoting a short passage with attribution is fine.
You may not reproduce the site or a substantial part of it commercially, present our material as your own, use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you, frame the site inside another, or systematically scrape it — including to train a model — without our written permission.
You also may not mirror the site or redistribute it from another server, strip out copyright notices or trade marks, create derivative works from our material, or decompile or reverse engineer any part of the software behind it. Reporting a security flaw to us in good faith is a different thing entirely, and we would rather hear from you — call the number on this site.
Fair dealing under the Copyright Act, for purposes such as research, private study, criticism, review or reporting current events, is unaffected by anything on this page.
You keep the copyright in what you upload
The photograph stays yours. Taking a picture of your own item makes you its author and its copyright owner. Uploading it to us does not change that, and we do not ask you to assign it.
What you grant us is narrow and specific. By uploading a photograph you give us permission to store it, to transmit it to our AI provider to produce your estimate, to have authorised staff view it, and to use it internally to check valuation accuracy and resolve disputes. That is the whole of it.
We will not use it publicly without asking you. Your photographs are never published, used in marketing or advertising, sold, or licensed to anyone else. If we ever wanted to use one publicly we would come and ask, and you would be free to say no.
Upload only what is yours to upload. By uploading you confirm the photograph is yours or that you have permission for it, and that sharing it with us does not infringe anyone else's rights.
If you think we have used something of yours
Tell us and we will look at it properly. Call 010 157 5180 and give us enough to act on: what the work is, where it appears on our site, why you believe it infringes, and how we can reach you. Where a complaint is well founded we will remove the material.
A formal takedown notice under section 77 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 may also be sent to the service provider hosting the material. Note that section 77(2) makes a person who issues a materially false takedown notice liable for the resulting damages, so it is worth being sure first.
