Terms of use
The terms you accept by using this website, the valuation calculator and any account you open. Selling an item to us is governed separately by our terms and conditions of sale.
In effect from 16 September 2026

Our full registered company details — registered name, company registration number, the names of our directors and our registered office address — are available on request. Call us on 010 157 5180 and we will provide them.
Buying second-hand precious metals from the public in South Africa is regulated under the Second-Hand Goods Act 6 of 2009. If you would like to confirm our dealer credentials before selling anything to us, call us on 010 157 5180 and ask — it is a fair question and we would rather you asked it.
What you may and may not do here
You may use this website to get an indicative valuation, to read about how we work, and to arrange for us to inspect an item. You may not use it to do anything unlawful, to disrupt the service or other users, to scrape or bulk-extract its content, to probe or test its security without our written permission, or to misrepresent who you are.
You must be at least 18 years old to open an account or to sell to us. We verify age as part of identity verification, and we cannot transact with a minor.
Your account and your responsibility for it
Keep your password to yourself. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you, so tell us immediately if you think someone else has access — call 010 157 5180. We will never ask you for your password, and you should treat anyone who does as an impostor.
We may suspend or close an account that is being used unlawfully, that has been used to misrepresent identity or ownership of an item, or where we are required to do so by law. Where we can tell you why, we will.
Nothing on this site is an offer to buy
Every figure the calculator or a photo assessment produces is an indication based on the live metal price and the details supplied to it. It is not an offer, it does not bind either of us, and it is frequently wrong in both directions — a photograph cannot establish karat, and stated weights are often estimates. The only number that counts is the one produced after your item has been physically tested and weighed.
Spot prices shown on this site come from third-party feeds and may be delayed or briefly incorrect. We do not warrant their accuracy and you should not trade on them.
We do not promise the site is always up
We aim to keep this website available and accurate, but we provide it as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of anything harmful, and we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it — including the calculator — without notice.
Errors. Pages here may contain typographical, technical or photographic errors, and content can go out of date. We correct mistakes when we find them, but we do not warrant that everything on the site is accurate, complete or current at any given moment. An obvious error — a price or figure that is plainly wrong — does not bind us.
Things beyond our control. We are not in breach of these terms where we are prevented from performing by something outside our reasonable control, including load-shedding, network or hosting failure, bank or payment-system downtime, severe weather, unrest, or the failure of a third party we depend on.
Links we do not control
We link to other places — our social profiles, WhatsApp, and occasionally a source we have cited. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement. Once you leave this site you are on someone else's terms, and you should read them.
Be particularly careful with links that claim to be us but arrive by SMS, email or a message you did not expect. We will never ask for your password or your banking details by message. If something looks off, phone the number published on this site.
The limits of what we are responsible for
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website, or for any decision you take on the strength of an online estimate rather than a physical inspection.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes anything that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. In particular, your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 are not affected, and we do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Changes, law and how to reach us
Changes. We may update these terms. The version published here is the one that applies, and the date it took effect is shown at the top of this page. Where a change materially affects you and we hold your contact details, we will tell you.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.
Complaints and disputes. Speak to us first — most things are a misunderstanding and are fixed in a phone call. Call 010 157 5180. If that does not settle it, we will suggest mediation, which is faster and cheaper than court for both of us.
None of that takes anything away from you. You are not required to mediate before going to court, and you keep every right you have under South African law — including approaching the National Consumer Commission, the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud, or a court of competent jurisdiction.
Severability. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
